This book came to me at a time when I was struggling to find purpose and move with the changes. I found myself at the Shambala Book Tent at Glastonbury Festival looking for answers, and this book called to me. Chodron helped me to reframe how I was seeing things negatively and instead use them as an opportunity for growth. I also found solace in the Buddhist doctrines as a way to ground myself when I felt pulled in so many directions of hedonism and blurred morals at University.

Every woman in Western society should read this book. We bitch, we villainise each other, we plaster over the surface with "yeah everything's great thanks"" meanwhile we struggle in silence thinking it's just us who has it hard. If you've ever envied your friend's life and felt like you're alone, you are not the only one. Read it, and let me know what you think!
