Supervision
I take a fully comprehensive approach to our supervision together: getting to know you as a person and practitioner. I'm here to support.
I work using the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision as taught by Bob Cooke at the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy in Chorlton.
Together we will explore your client work, its impact on you, and how I can support you in your practice so that you are working to ethical standards as well as providing the best service you can to your clients, while also looking after yourself.
Being a therapiust can be tough:
It's a big responsibility, a life-changing job, and sometimes we need support too.
This you-affirming approach is exactly what I offer in our supervision together.
Nurturing your wellbeing so that your clients can get the best of you.
If you'd like support with:
-
building your private practice
-
managing clients who trigger you
-
growing self-trust and confidence in your work
As well as being able to meet with someone who understands the current landscape of being a therapist who shows up online, who's familiar with working both with and against social media, who understands the big juggle that is managing your own chaotic human life as well as support other people's: I could be the right supervisor for you.
We might look at: imposter syndrome, preventing burnout, raising your fees, being the "fixer", and how to handle uncomfortable energies that might come up for you in the counselling room.
Each session I'll meet you where you are.
If you need a big personal vent before launching into client work, I'm here.
I'll always make sure I get to know YOU so that I can better understand how client work impacts you and how external influences might be affecting your job right now.
As a therapist, you *are*your job. So having that support is fundamental.
I truly believe in supervision as an essential ingredient for providing good therapy, and am endlessly grateful for the support I have from my own.
I have a strictly therapist-only private Instagram account where I go into more detail about how I work: @supervisionwithellie
